July in Taipei, if it’s not hot and humid, it’s hot and raining. I take this time of the year to visit or revisit museums.
Firstly, where to discover interesting exhibits?
Unsurprisingly, I check:
- KKDay
- Taipei Tourism Website
- If bored, go to official websites of different museums and parks e.g. Songshan Cultural Park, Huashan Creative Park
So here’s where I went~
National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC)
- A World of Wonder: Anna & Daniel Special Exhibition
- Google Maps (link)
- To get here, it’s a ~1.2km from Shilin MRT Station, about 17~20mins
I went here with a friend to take photos, trying to figure out what they saw in that moment, and it was fun! I think it’s a great idea to translate what you see on the street to fun objects that people can play with.
National Museum of History
- Journey into Immortality: Egyptian Mummies
- Google Maps (link)
- To get here, 800m from Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall MRT Station, about 11mins
Mummies are fascinating because they’re a direct line to real people from the past, often with their bodies, belongings, and last wishes intact.
Funny thing: my friends and I were discussing how we need to write something grand on our epitaphs or urns for the humans (if they still exist) 3,000 years from now.

That’s it for now! Stay tuned for more tips where to go in Taipei when you’re bored.
