November Stargazing: Shooting Milky Way with GoPro13; Orion is back in the skies!
Taipei’s frustrating light pollution pushes stargazers like me to explore Taiwan’s darker skies. November targets include the returning Orion constellation with M42 and Horsehead Nebula, plus Andromeda Galaxy and Triangulum Galaxy. Cycling in Taiwan: Bikepacking on e-Bike!
Curious about e-bike bikepacking for stargazing? I tested the limits by hauling my ‘scope 50km to a riverside campsite for a weekend under the stars. From weight distribution mishaps to cold nights and headwind battles, here’s my honest experience combining cycling with astronomy—and whether it’s worth trying yourself.

October Stargazing: Comet Hunting!
October brought two rare comets—C/2025 A6 Lemmon and C/2025 R2 SWAN at their closest approach to Earth. I chased them from Hemeishan’s trails before sunset and Sun Moon Lake’s shores before the marathon. These cosmic visitors won’t return for 600–1,300 years. Didn’t catch them? Join me in this misery!

Daytime Stargazing: The Sun, the Moon and the bright planets
Can you use a telescope during the day? Absolutely! From my 3:30am stargazing session to capturing the sun at 5PM, telescopes work brilliantly in daylight. I observed the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, and even recorded detailed solar footage with sunspots. Daytime astronomy opens up viewing opportunities beyond nighttime deep-sky objects.
