Camping in 小野柳 臺東Xiaoyeliu, Taitung : My First Time Camping out in Taiwan
Also known as Xiaoyeliu (小野柳), the area have lots of interesting rock formations along the coast. Unlike most of the country of Taiwan’s east coast, the rock formation here is primarily made of sandstone. For 2025’s blood moon, we chose this as our base of operations.

August 2025 Stargazing: Cygnus and Cassiopeia
I have already accepted that I can count on my fingers the nights when there’s only 30% sky obscured in summer, including August. Any more than that is like playing tag with the clouds! I continued to collect more data in Cygnus while taking a peek at what’s to come in autumn in Cassiopeia!

Daytime Stargazing: The Sun, the Moon and the bright planets
Can you use a telescope during the day? Absolutely! From my 3:30am stargazing session to capturing the sun at 5PM, telescopes work brilliantly in daylight. I observed the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, and even recorded detailed solar footage with sunspots. Daytime astronomy opens up viewing opportunities beyond nighttime deep-sky objects.
